Bass Lofts Picture Day Sneak Peak!

Last weekend we had the privilege of meeting some of the best-looking, friendliest, most playful residents here at the Bass Lofts! Picture Day was a tail-wagging time for all - we had treats, sticks, soccer balls, more sticks, more treats.... and cute smiles galore! The pups were lucky enough to be treated to puppy cupcakes and biscotti from Dinger's Dog Treats - check out their website on our links to the left! They offer treats that look so good that I had to keep myself from snacking... and they're all homemade. Thank you Linda for the yummy goodies!

And now without further ado.... the fur-faces of Bass Lofts!

This is Luigi. He is by no means camera-shy, and will do just about anything for a stick or a treat!

Freddie is a sweet, happy Westie with a laid-back attitude and a loveable smile.
Gracie doesn't mind leaving the spotlight to her little brother Luigi most of the time, but she'll sit pretty and shine when she gets the chance!

Allie the Cairn Terrier reminds me so much of my Sammy! She has a vivacious personality and curiosity, but will pose like a super-model too!
All the pups were great friends, and even in the presence of coveted snacks, behaved like ladies and gentlemen.....
ALMOST all day long....(don't worry! No harm was done to poor Freddie!)

Another shy girl, Birdy, was rescued from a highway in New Orleans! She was a little overwhelmed by all the action at first, but she gave us a few sweet smiles - what a good girl!

I think greyhounds are such gorgeous, elegant dogs, and Vox has looks AND personality!

Vox's friend Tui looks a lot like my mom and dad's Abraham! She is pretty and loving, and loves to pose and jump!
Ok, I'm Italian, so when you give me a Boston Terrier named Luigi to photograph, and he gives me his gangster persona full-on like the photo on the left, I'm in photographer heaven! Don't mess with Luigi....
And this lovely ladie is Sadie, a Beagle mix. Her pretty coloring looked so gorgeous in the autumn sunlight!

And at the very end of our afternoon came this little girl, Maggie Mae, who I believe was quite content that she was the last remaining model for the day! She had no qualms being the center of attention, and had lots of poses and tricks for us!

Maggie Mae is a tomboy, and loves to play soccer! No seriously, she's better at sports than I am...

Not only were we lucky enough to have all those canines, but we also were able to photograph two feline neighbors - Fido and Rover! They were a bit worried about us interrupting their afternoon with their Mom at first. But they are very sweet kitties who warmed up nicely and were so patient while we snapped away!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out for Picture Day! We had such a great time getting to know all of you... and say thank you to your people too! We will be sure to let you all know when our website is up and you can see the full set of proofs from the day!

L5P Halloween Parade

Last weekend was the annual Little 5 Points Halloween Parade! Although I have lived in Atlanta for over 5 years now, this is the first year I've attended this parade. Having the ability to walk out of our front door and have great seats waiting was quite a treat too! The parade was everything I expected - the epitome of L5P diversity and Atlanta spunk. Even though the light wasn't exactly perfect for shooting, we tried from our perch on the hill overlooking Euclid Ave. to capture some of the madness. Here are the highlights!

There were two sets of stars for the day at the parade: The kids and the puppies! Both were equally decked out, and there were wings galore!

Once the crowd started pouring in, we were disappointed not to have snagged closer seats so we could catch more of the doggie costumes. We were lucky enough, however, to have these furry faces camp out right next to us - and they were very gracious in letting us snap away!

As expected, there were costumes of all sorts - for big kids and little kids. Some were sweet...
and some were kinda scary!
These were probably my favorite costumes from the day. So creatively put together! So Tim Burton!

Some kids had just one thing on their minds.... CANDY! Hey, can you blame them?
Politics for dogs?
The best thing about this parade is that everybody gets to be exactly who they want to be.

These shots give a bit of an idea of the crazy crowds in the streets....
And the most important thing about a neighborhood parade is making sure everybody has had a GREAT time! I think this guy has that covered. Dance Away!

Happy Halloween!
